Choral Journal Advertising Policy
General Policies
- Ad copy subject to editorial approval.
- Headings and borders.
The
editors reserve the right to apply a header and/or border any advertisement bearing
confusing resemblance to editorial material.
- Classified ads or reading notices.
Contract Terms and Agreements
- Contracts. Contracts may start with any issue and be applied to issues within
the volume year.
- Multiple insertions. Insertion
rates apply to the number of insertions actually used. Rates apply to
the current volume year only and are for successive insertions of equal
or smaller-size ads.
- Contract cancellations and killed advertising. Contracts may be discontinued on 30 days prior written notice by either advertiser or publisher. If ad(s) cancelled by the advertiser
causes the advertiser to adjust rate schedules, the cost difference for
the adjusted rate will be billed to the advertiser. Advertisements killed
by the advertiser 45 days before the issuance date will be billed 20%
of the contracted rate.
- For your protection. Written announcements concerning new rates will be made by the
publisher approximately 30 days prior to the closing date of the first
issue to be affected by the new rates.
- Bills rendered at time of publication. Net 30 days from invoice date. A two-percent (2%) discount is offered if payment is postmarked 10 days from first invoice date. A 1.5%
(18% per annum) surcharge will be added monthly to unpaid balances after
30 days. A tear sheet and one copy of the publication are included with
the invoice. Advertisers will be billed for any unearned discounts
at the close of the publication year.
- Delivery. The Choral Journal is mailed as second-class postage on
approximately the 25th day of the month preceding the issuance date.
About ACDA and the Choral Journal
- Choral Journal. The
primary editorial mission of the Choral Journal is to provide ACDA
members with practical and scholarly information about choral music and
its performance. Topics include conducting and rehearsal techniques, music
history, repertoire, and education issues. Reviews of CDs, books, and
printed music appear every issue. The Choral Journal is mailed
approximately the 25th day of the month preceding the issuance date.
- ACDA members teach choral music in the public and private schools-kindergarten
through senior high school-and at the college and university levels. They
conduct a variety of choral groups including boychoirs, children's choirs,
men's and women's choirs, junior and senior high school choirs, college
and university choruses, ethnic choirs, vocal-jazz ensembles, and community
and symphony choruses. In addition, they conduct choirs in religious institutions.
ACDA also offers memberships to music industries.
- Readership. Through membership in the American Choral Directors Association.
- Yearly subscriptions rates for libraries.

Mailing Lists
For specialized direct mailing, the American Choral Directors
Association provides electronic files for $90.00 per 1,000 records, and
3-up labels for $75.00 per 1,000 labels. Labels are not barcoded. Mail outs
must be pre-approved.

International Coverage
If you are interested in international coverage, you might consider
advertising in the International Choral Bulletin, the official
journal of the International Federation for Choral Music (IFCM), of which
ACDA is a founding member.
